#384: We will not nominate our design due to the negative feedback of the preliminary test but are we obliged to nominate our design or can we participate with another project?
First of all, you can participate with another project; you are not under obligation to proceed with a project that has received a preliminary score. However, you must be careful that a Rejection (negative feedback) is not a score and it is not final either; when you upload a design, it is queued for evaluation, however if the presentation is not technically correct, it is rejected at the very beginning without getting a preliminary score. The preliminary score is from zero (0) to ten (10), and given to all designs that pass the technical checks, and you also have a presentation score from zero (0) to hundred (100) which you should not confuse. Presentation quality score (up to 100) is automatically calculated and does not reflect the preferences of the jury members; the presentation quality score is about technicality of the presentation and its compliance with our guidelines and the presentation quality score can be improved by making changes to your text and images as suggested by the advanced submission optimizer service which you could use free of charge. Rejection status occurs when your automated score is very low or if the presentation is technically incorrect (such as wrong image sizes, missing text, missing images etc), in this case, your work gets technically rejected before it is seen by a preliminary jury member; i.e. you do not get a preliminary score from zero (0) to ten (10) and the work gets outright rejected due to technical issues. You need to ensure that this does not happen to you; you will get a preliminary score from zero (0) to ten (10) only once the design is presented good enough so that when we forward to jury member they see a uniform and good presentation; when the presentation is good enough we forward it to preliminary jury and then the preliminary jury will give a score that explains the likelihood of award status and that is the preliminary score which is from zero (0) to ten (10). When your work gets rejected, instead of uploading another design, it is best to first download presentation guidelines. The guidelines will be useful and ensure your other works do not get eliminated.
