INSPIRATION: I tried to keep consistent with the concept of marathon, runner, and Tokyo in this minimal icons. All of the icons had to relate to these 3 concepts.

(all of the marathon attendees get T-shirts and they can apply the target/or finish time and icons of their favorite selections to their T-shirts.) The purpose of this T-shirt customization event is to create a special reward for marathon runners, and to increase the awareness of the cafe.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Marathon runners were not only coming from Japan, but also worldwide. To be able to make the design attractive for global marathon runners, I focused on the the design as simple yet intelligible as possible.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The designs were made in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. All of the icons are created as a shimmer/metallic heat transfer labels so that we could apply these heat transfer labels to the T-shirt at the event.

TAGS: Icons, Design, T-shirt Design, Graphic Design
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: First, I researched the keyword of Tokyo and Marathon, then came up with 3 different concept ideas (Mini Lifestyle, Minimal Japan, and Pixel Japan).
CHALLENGE: Many Japanese brands are creating lots of Japan-theme designs to attract global tourists, so it was very challenging not to be the same designs/styles that have been released already.

This award-winning work is an impressive display of creativity and innovation, with thoughtful research and consideration of the different concepts being brought together. The ability to create unique icons and T-shirts to be used as complimentary gifts is a great reward for marathon runners, while also raising awareness of the cafe. The challenge of creating something fresh and original, while still maintaining a Japan-theme, is remarkable and demonstrates a high level of talent. The production methods used are also noteworthy, with the shimmer/metallic heat transfer labels being applied to the T-shirts to create something truly special for the event. Well done!
