Wardrobe Fall/Winter 2017 Collection

S'MM F/W 2017 Collection was mainly inspired by Kim's wardrobe story and French photographer Sophie Calle's L'Hotel series. The beginning of this collection, Kim observed her wardrobe and realized that her wardrobe was filled with black color. But interestingly, her design was always fill with white and very bright color. F/W 2017 collection showed the recreation and reinterpretation of Kim's wardrobe story to minimalism vision with feminine details.

Jihyun Kim is a founder and creative director of S’MM, which is women’s wear brand based in New York since 2016. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to New York at the age of eighteen to attend Pratt Institute. While at Pratt, she was interning at Anna Sui, Jill Stuart, J.Mendel, and Melitta Baumeister that time she experienced the fashion industry in New York City. In 2016, Kim graduated B.F.A Fashion design from Pratt Institute and presented her first collection, titled “Portraits of Women.” At the stage of graduating fashion show, she won the Liz-Claiborne Concept to Product Award and $25,000 sponsorship for the next collection from Liz Claiborne & Art Ortenberg Foundation, after then Kim launched her brand, called “S’MM.” Recently, Kim is working as a freelance fashion designer based in New York City as well as she spends most of the time to develop the new collection.

S'MM is a contemporary ready-to-wear women's brand based in New York. S'MM was founded in 2016 by Jihyun Kim. Jihyun Kim is a South Korean born New York based fashion designer. Kim graduated Pratt Institute in 2016. At the stage of senior fashion show, she received Liz Claiborne-Concept to Product award and Kim got $25,000 sponsorship from Liz Claiborne & Art Ortenberg foundation. After won the prize, Kim launched S'MM and her brand pursues minimal design with feminine details.
