S'MM F/W 2017 Collection
Fall/Winter 2017 Collection
The collection was inspired by Kim's personal story of wardrobe and French photographer Sophie Calle's L'Hotel series. Last summer, Kim realized that her wardrobe was filled with black color clothes. Interestingly, her design always be with white and very bright color. This story was the starting point of F/W 2017. This collection attempted to recreate of Kim's wardrobe with minimal perspective and feminine details. Also, Sophie Calle’s L’Hotel series was composed with black and white photography that led Kim to create mono-tone collection. Because mono-tone colors accentuated the reminiscence of the personal story of old clothes. Most of pieces show very clean and minimal silhouette and exaggerated ruffle details emphasized Kim's own aesthetic and today's feminine design trend.

Kim analyzed her wardrobe story and visited thrift stores. She also researched Sophie Calle's L'Hotel series and many black and white photography. She tried to explore the old clothes because old clothes always contended behind personal stories.
The hardest part of this collection was making to real garment from my feeling and imagination. And, time management. Because her design team had to solve construction issues and create the way of be able to wearable instead of art piece. Also, Kim's team was very small so time management was really important and tough.
