| DESIGN NAME: Muse PRIMARY FUNCTION: Decorative plate INSPIRATION: This product was created to make traditional plates more visually interesting while eating. The illustration printed on the plate is inspired by a divine presence, embellished with flowers around it. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This product is a ceramic plate with an illustration stamped by a serigraphic process cured at high temperatures to better fix the stamping. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Muse can be used as both a decoration and to serve food. One of its attributes is that it can be used in the dishwasher and microwave without weakening the stamping. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A serigraphic process was applied on a vitrified sticker with special leadfree pigments. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It is 22 cm wide, 22 cm long and 2 cm high. The illustration print is resistant to scratching, heat and the wear and tear that comes from continual use. TAGS: Illustration, stamping, silkscreen, ceramic, design, product design, decorative, tableware RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The first part of the research was focused on a decorative object for the dining table. The second phase of research was focused on screenprinting techniques for ceramics. CHALLENGE: The challenge of Muse was create a detailed illustration and stamp it on a plate without losing quality but also make it durable enough to serve food and use it in the microwave and dishwasher.
