| DESIGN NAME: True Love PRIMARY FUNCTION: Illustration INSPIRATION: The concept is inspirited by observation, an old couple holding hands and walking slowly to a bus stop. It is a simple way to express love. Chinese couples usually tend not to show verbal affection, instead to hold hands and cuddle. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "True Love" is a series of illustration to present the concept of love. In the concept of “yin and yang”, black and white are two complementary forces. This series of illustration used black and white colors represent complementary, balance and harmony of love and how two opposite make one whole. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It can be used as a private collection, or be a home decoration or asanillustration for a greeting card or book. A series of illustration isaimedto show love and warmth. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Illustration started in January 2018 and finished in February in Hong Kong. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Draw with ink SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 180mmx180mm TAGS: Love, elder, couple RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In Chinese philosophy, “yin and yang” describes two seemingly opposite or contrary forces may be interconnected, interdependent and complementary. It exactly matches the abstract concept of love and what this series of illustrations want to express. CHALLENGE: It is the challenge to visualize the abstract concept of "yin and yang", apart from using the "taichi symbol". For this problem, the illustration avoids limited in a circle forms.
