| DESIGN NAME: San Vitale PRIMARY FUNCTION: Console Table INSPIRATION: Julia was inspired by the drawings of Byzantine architecture. According to the designer, the outlines of the plans for the buildings of that architectural period look extremely contemporary. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Creating the concept of the console table, the designer was inspired by the Byzantine architecture drawings. In designer's opinion the buildings plans outlines of that architectural period look extremely contemporary now. The console table design is based on the San Vitale Basilica in Ravenna plan and interior. Shape and volume are determined by the plan, while the colours and choice of materials are associated with the interior decoration of the Basilica. Capacious contemporary design cutting off all that is superfluous, but containing the historical heritage.
