DESIGN NAME: Citroen in lines
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Illustration
INSPIRATION: I've been a Citroen cars enthusiast for more than 10 years so far. My passion in design and in Citroen vehicles was the main thing that made me want to create this work. For a few months I was thinking on different ideas for creating this work. Citroen cars are well known for creativity and innovation, and this was also a great inspiration for me.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a personal work, that follows the history of a favorite brand of mine. Except of the long working hours, I've put a lot of emotion into the creation process also. The simple and naive style, carefully selected colors and the variety of stroke widths are the soul of this work. I wanted to recreate the timeline of the models in an engaging way, so that not only a brand enthusiast would stop and take the time to explore all of the models.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction of my design is emotional. Though it's colors and shapes it should bring different kind of emotions to the viewer, and not only to the people that have memories with those vehicles, but also to people who have never had a contact with one.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in March 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria and finished in April 2015.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Vector strokes are the main element in this project. Creating the shapes and volumes of all the vehicles is done only by combining different stroke widths with different colors and using multiply effect for transparency. All of the designs use white background color.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: There are no specific dimensions

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research behind this project included collecting data for all the existing models of the brand as well years of production. Various websites have been used to gather all this details. I wanted to create a timeline - a virtual museum that reveals real history and not only a work of design.
CHALLENGE: The challenge behind this project was mostly for the visual part. I wanted to create a project not only to exist but to be fun and useful too. I've experimented with various colors, shapes and styles till I came up with the final one. Another style that I was thinking to use was using pixelated images.
