DESIGN NAME: 3M PTL 10 Year Anniversary Logo
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Corporate Identity
INSPIRATION: Light rays and premium colours of Gold and Silver is the main concept for this logo design. The 3M™ Polarizing Light technology reduces glare and provides a soothing light ray that protects the eyes, thus we play on the overlapping of light rays, signifying the anti-glare experience. The word 10 is framed in gold to speak about the high standards and the cutting edge technology that the brand carries.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A ten year anniversary logo to celebrate 3M Polarizing Light's launch here in Singapore. Here we play with premium colors of gold and silver, set against the anti-glare technology depicting a simple yet timeless logo in relevance to the light rays.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2013. It was featured in leaflets, press materials, brochures, internal presentations as well as Point of Sales Materials in stores from 2013 onwards.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: Experimenting about what to feature the rays was the challenge in this project. The ideas that came to mind was fireworks but execution was not an easy task. Plus adding multiple colours would make the design too fanciful. We studied multiple firework bursts and experimented with graphics but it was too cluttered. In the final stages we decided to use the idea of round rays which proved to be effective as we tried overlapping to create a firework display. We kept the colours to metallics using gold and silver, which immediately gave us the edge.
