INSPIRATION: Quark Studio Architects approached the design with a focus on promoting a restful and restorative environment for both patients and staff. The incorporation of natural elements and amenities throughout the hospital was a key factor in achieving this goal. The hospital's interior is adorned with artificial greenery, creating a calming and refreshing ambience that helps to reduce stress and facilitate recovery.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The hospital's interiors prioritize a stress-free work environment for staff to focus on delivering excellent patient care. The design approach recognizes healthcare facilities as places of recuperation, emphasizing a holistic healing environment. To optimize working conditions for medical professionals, the hospital provides abundant artificial lighting closely resembling natural daylight. Overall, the hospital's design promotes a positive environment for staff and patients alike.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital is an impressive modern facility that offers a comforting and therapeutic atmosphere for all its occupants. The hospital's design approach to health-centric architecture and integration of natural elements, luxurious materials, and amenities are a testament to Quark Studio Architects' commitment to creating a holistic restorative environment that caters to the needs of both patients and staff.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2022 in Kahramanmars, Turkey and it's still ongoing.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The hospital boasts a total build size of 32000 sqm, accommodating a range of services, including 150 patient rooms (standard and VIP), seven operating theatres, a hybrid operating theatre, a restaurant, two cafeterias, a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre, an emergency department, ICU, MRI, radiology, angiography, laboratories, women's health centre, management offices, and various polyclinics specializing in gynaecology, paediatrics, neurology, urology, dermatology, otorhinolaryngology, oncology, cardiology, infectiology, internal medicine, and ophthalmology.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital was designed with elegant materials throughout, with a colour scheme that emphasizes warmth and textures that take inspiration from nature, creating a harmonious and calming atmosphere. Light hues such as ivory, taupe and beige were specifically chosen to foster a sense of cleanliness, with shades of earthly greens and browns incorporated to enhance the natural feel.
CHALLENGE: The hospital aims to provide patients and staff with a comfortable and healing environment that integrates natural elements and luxurious amenities.
