| DESIGN NAME: Riga Residence PRIMARY FUNCTION: House INSPIRATION: The architecture of the facades of the building after reconstruction is emphatically modern, the principles of building facades are based on modernist principles, corresponding to current global trends. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project of residential house includes: dismantling of the facade decoration of the building, internal partitions and partial dismantling of load-bearing structures, followed by installation of new load-bearing structures, facade finishing, filling openings and other elements in order to completely transform the appearance and architecture of the building, and adaptation of the planning solution of the building according to the customer's terms of reference. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The building of the residential building is designed for year-round residence of the customer and his family members, as well as the stay of a small number of guests. On the right side of the house there is a terrace, inside of which there is a decorative garden, which can be accessed both from the side of the plot and from the adjacent premises of the house. Behind the garden there is a SPA. In the basement, the embankment is interrupted to organize the arrival to the underground parking; also in the basement there are other auxiliary and technical rooms. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2020. Design development (DD) was complete in Spring 2021. Construction Phase underway today. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Contrasting colors and materials are used in the facade decoration, which emphasizes the complex and unusual shape of the building, more clearly revealing its features. Window openings are mainly made from floor to ceiling, revealing the interiors of the house on the site and providing the best view characteristics; in addition, this technique allows you to visually dissolve the building in the surrounding landscape by looking through the house and glare on a large number of panoramic glazing. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions of the building in axes - 38 315 x 18 835 mm. The total area of the building before reconstruction is 1821.8 sq. m. After reconstruction - 1404.7 sq. m. The height of the building relative to the entrance group - 10.580. TAGS: Residential House, Interior Design, Mansion, Modern, Reconstruction RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project provides for the reconstruction of an existing residential building and landscaping of the site. Methodology: Primary needs, Information Gathering, Problem definition, design and planning. CHALLENGE: A special challenge was the partial preservation of the structural part of the building with a minimum number of dismantling works, significantly transforming only its outer shell. This was solved by a thorough analysis of the structure and the development of specific nodes.
