| DESIGN NAME: Belly Preg PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Application INSPIRATION: This project was based on personal experiences during pregnancy. So, I decided to design the application for women who want to track their pregnancy and save life balance during this period. During my work I passed all stages of the design process, starting with competitors analysis. Then, I conducted interviews and a survey. These activities allowed me to create a persona, user journey map, and other artifacts, which I used to design the final product. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The application monitors every physical change of a future mother and every stage of a baby's development. In addition, it provides access to relevant information authored by various specialists and allows visualizing the size of the baby by comparing it to usual objects. The application offers checklists for each trimester, monitoring of weight and blood pressure. A water intake monitor can help keep track of water intake. The kick calculator will help keep track of a child's movements. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Once the app is launched, the user can interact with the tools that monitor the physical change of a woman and every stage of a baby's development. The user can insert her data like weight, blood pressure, water intake, tummy growth, kicks and compare it with normal values. A smart abbreviation calculator will tell you when it is time to take off to the hospital. The application offers checklists for each trimester. It provides access to relevant information. It allows visualizing the size of the baby by comparing it to usual objects in every gestation period. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October and finished in December in Moscow, Russia. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For the research was used such programs as Miro, Figma, Figma Jam, the main documentation was kept in Coda. The surveys were conducted in Google Forms. The interface design was developed using Photoshop and Figma. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The app is designed for iOS platforms. It is adaptable to many different resolutions and kinds of screens. Тhe submitted prototype is made for iPhone X. TAGS: Mobile, Application, User Interface, User Experience, Product design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design began with a competitor analysis. As competitors, I decided to take the top five pregnancy applications. During the research, five people were interviewed and a survey of more than two hundred people was launched. My respondents were women from more than six countries. These activities helped me to understand the user needs and to develop a user journey map. Based on the design principles, it was decided to use pastel colors. To facilitate development native patterns were applied. CHALLENGE: During the design process, one of the most difficult stages was understanding the user needs and user journey map development. Women who use the application will be prepared for childbirth and motherhood and their stress level is lower. I hope that the percentage of women who gave birth to healthy babies among users of our application will be higher.
