DESIGN NAME: Mao Xin Tea House
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Visual Identity
INSPIRATION: The Mao Xin tea house has produced four generations of tea farmers here in Taiwan. The Tseng family have been growing tea all the way from the Japanese colonial era to this day. The entire family has a very deep emotional connection to the local culture especially that involving tea and its Zen. It is an aspiration for the entire family to be able to continue passing this on to future generations.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The logo design was meant to bring out the beauty of oriental tea and its culture. In particular this teas specialty which is two leaves to every one root. When you combine that with the local tea culture it is very easy to connect it with the zen culture as many of plots are set out in a circular manner similar to a Japanese rock garden.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The logo can be used on many different types of packaging also in many places around the interior or even exterior of the store. Places could include cups, business cards, the store sign, menus or a pop up event. This will help create brand recognition.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Mar 2018 in Taiwan and finished in Sep 2018 in Taiwan.
