| DESIGN NAME: Symphony Of Janan PRIMARY FUNCTION: Expressive Illustration INSPIRATION: Inspired mostly by the characteristics of the seahorse, a little creature living in the vast harsh ocean. A delicate creature yet showing a powerful sense of love through an unbreakable bond with its eternal dance partner. I had the urge to mix this with the untamed nature of a wild horse waiting for its companion. The research varied between finding the characters with the desired emotions and the right elements to bond with the characters and develop the purpose behind the design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Fictional design combines two characters, each with special attributes. Strength of a horse, and delicacy and tenderness of a seahorse. Linked by ornamented heart that holds a key lock. The key evolves from a heart shape in its core that holds it and creates a fundamental connection with the character. The designer used a variety of geometric shapes across the design to give a sense of flow and movement in order to connect with the character and reflect upon its expressions. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design could be a standalone printed as an artwork, Or it could be transformed into a 3d form and used as a still or animated character. It can be physically sculptured and used as an art-decor element using metallic materials, hand made or factory production. The objects are very flexible to use, it's been created using adobe illustrator and Photoshop, and can be operated in many ways. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The initial sketch was done free hand aimed to create a homogenous flow of all the thoughts gathered pertaining the subject of my piece. Revisiting the visual concept was essential in order to create a high degree of consistency to establishing perfection within every corner of the drawing, considering the density of Janan’s structure. I have also adopted traditional methods of depicting shapes and carefully applied it within the relevant scope of my drawing. Following the sketch development stage, came the digital aspects of applying the technical skills utilized through illustrator and Photoshop. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: W80 cm x H90 cm, 300 dpi, RGB Colors TAGS: Heart, Illustration, Geometry, Fiction, Love, Beauty, Horse RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I went through multiple methods for my research, such as art books, internet, documentaries, and searching deeply within the Ethology of animals and their behaviors. I got valuable support from people that shared the love of animals. I also had enough information in my arsenal to dive deep into developing the idea in an original style. CHALLENGE: The characters varied greatly in their physical form, and finding a way to merge them into one without compromising their significant attributes was a challenge. Another minor obstacle was adding the components that support and complement the design in a compatible and consistent way while making sure they anchored the message and purpose of the design. NAME: Leopard Arts PROFILE: Najeeb is an artist, Specialized in Branding, Illustrations, Broadcast Designs. He worked for several TV Channels since 1996, such as Dubai TV, CNBC & MBC Group. He is a person who cares very much about the accuracy of the details, because for him it is the foundation in every successful design. and that gave him a different look, away from repetition and superficiality. He accomplished lots of designs across the range of Print, Television, TV Commercials, and the Digital Space. Photography took a big part of his life and shaped a new perspective to his vision, and gave him the opportunity to be the official MBC Star Presenters photographer. In addition, Najeeb's passion for art led him to pursue classical drawing and painting methods to visualize his emotions, ideas, and concepts and excel in techniques such as Impression & Abstract paintings styles. At the end, Najeeb is driven by a passion for art, and the pursuit of perfection. To him, Design is everything, its the way of his life, and perfection defines every brush or Wacom stroke he performs. |
