Lion is a leading beverage and food company with around 7,500 people across Australia and New Zealand. The Lion portfolio includes many market-leading, household -name brands in beer, spirits, wine, milk, fresh dairy foods, juice, cheese and soy beverages. Within the Dairy and Drinks division, the Innovation team was tasked with exploring diversified growth options, which became the platform for creating Hopt. Taking inspiration from ‘lean start-up’ methodologies, an entrepreneurial approach was combined with user-centred design and the rigour of traditional quantitative research. The result was Hӧpt, a delicious clean soda presented with intriguing packaging and brand design.
