While meeting with the lady owned this German Bakery in Taipei City, D.More Design Studio was inspired by both fairy tale and concise impressions of Germany. Representing the image of Black Forest, Schwarzwald, from where the German secret recipe was originated, they made all background in dark and settled two wooden cabins filled with breads in the center forest surrounded by the iconic Bauhaus chairs with red berry like lights hanging above. The timber frame pattern of traditional German houses were converted into the steel frame shelves, and the storefront facade.
Before Matt Liao founded his D.More Design Studio in late 2007, he had worked for some architecture and construction companies in Taiwan and New York. Matt has always tried to deliver his belief, “Everyone shall Do More, Design More, and Detail More”, because he thinks these so called good designers are just the ones who can find more from those “Mores”. In addition, Matt believes everyone has been a designer in many aspects since he was born and learn to live. The Chinese name of D.More Design Studio literally means “do as well”. Since when anyone is designing something in his daily life, Matt and his D.More team are always “designing something as well”.
D.More Design Studio was established in Taipei, Taiwan in 2007. Over these years, their designers have accomplished urban, architecture, landscape, interior, product and furniture design projects internationally. They found everything created for life was based on uniquely reviewing the experience from life. The team was named D.More because they believe not only designers but everyone shall “Do More, Design More, and Detail More” in their own ways all the time.
