This object is both a lamp and a sculpture, depending on the intention and use of the viewer. An oval glass disc partly framed and mounted on a steel stand can be illuminated by LED. The glass was melted using a special technique with several layers at the GLASLICHTKLANG atelier in Urstall/Southern Bavaria. The object is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Florian Lechner is essentially a border-crosser. This is clearly evident in a biography notable for its protagonist's move from Germany to France and a career that has seen him progress from painting to sculpture and architecture, from the surface to volume and space, and ultimately turn to glass, a material that is as enduringly novel as it is ancient. That Lechner's intellectual independence probes in many directions is also shown in his interest in the interaction between fine art and music - also in relation to the elapse of time and the power of written or spoken word. GLASLICHTKLANG developes various glasses and glass sculptures for lighting applications for architects in public and private spaces. The brand, that was created by artist Florian Lechner, uses unique self constructed fusing ovens to produce large architectural glass objects. One major focus in the work of GLASLICHTKLANG is the combination of glass, light and sound. In recapturing the physicality of glass, Florian Lechner found a possibility for making it a vehicle for light, in which light is invested with a virtually tactile quality. For Florian Lechner and his team, glass is not only a glowing material, but also a sounding material. Florian Lechner is currently putting on Sound Performances, improvising with a number of very different musicians. GLASLICHTKLANG is based in Nußdorf am Inn/ Southern Germany, only a few miles away from the Austrian Border.
