Chi is a bilingual identity for art performance that intends to display the dichotomy of the Chinese societies and their diasporic counterparts related to food and cuisines. Two artists interact contrastingly with eight dishes in the same table which shows China’s traditional cuisines which is able to create a soft communication between people such as three dimensional ice letter of Chi is distorted and cut in the center of the posters.
Benhao (Kiro) Xie is a graphic designer and multimedia artist currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born and grew up in China, and received her design education in the USA. With this background, her work intends to bring aesthetics and design theories from both cultures together; and as a young designer, she dares to experiment, to create something new.
