Located in Taipei’s first model community, this project blends into the old residential streetscape with a grey tile cladding and transparent facade. The glazed storefront not only allows visual permeability but enhances an open and accessible character to the neighborhood. At nighttime, the clinic subtly illuminates the street front as a crystalline box. A variety of materials are applied to define the functions of space. Aiming to alleviate patients’ anxiety during dental treatment, Archi-Obj Design coordinates the neutral palette to create a calming environment.

Chia-Yi Kuo is the co-founder of Architectural Object Design, an interior design practice based in Taipei, Taiwan. In 2013, she completed her M.Arch degree at the Bartlett School Of Architecture, UCL after studying Space Design at MCU and having a decade of professional experience. During her time with the practice, she has worked on various scales of projects ranging from residences, retails, restaurants, workplaces, banks and clinics. As the design director for Archi-Obj Design, Chia-Yi is responsible for design and concept development of projects.

Founded in 2017 by Yi-chiao Huang and Chia-yi Kuo, Architectural Object is a design practice based in Taipei, Taiwan. It works on the various-scale commissions including residences, retails, restaurants and workspaces. ​Archi-Obj aims to reach the aesthetic integrity and create the spatial experience with poetic senses. Through the approach to simplify complexity, the projects are interpreted for the design essences - the contextual responses to sites, environments, materials and users.
