DESIGN NAME: DDC Dental Clinic
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dental Clinic
INSPIRATION: When it comes to dental clinics, a visitor’s first impression is usually icy and frightening.
In this project, Architectural Object Design aims to create a serene setting for the patients, a calming and elegant environment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Located in Taipei’s first model community built in 1960s, this project blends into the old residential streetscape with the grey tile cladding and transparent facade. The glazed storefront not only allows visual permeability but enhances an open and accessible character to the neighborhood. At nighttime, the clinic subtly illuminates the street front as a crystalline box.
The concept of volume and linear element is practiced respectively in the reception and treatment rooms. Varieties of materials are applied to define the functions of different areas. Archi-Obj Design coordinates the neutral palette to alleviate patients’ anxiety during dental treatment.
