Chen Xuan is an award-winning designer, architect and entrepreneur based in Beijing, China. She works between architecture, interior and space design, furniture, fashion and lifestyle product design. She has been named a top Chinese designer by AD magazine, Better Home & Garden magazine and the Hurun Luxury Report. In 1999 Chen Xuan founded Shishang Architecture, an architecture and interior design firm based in Beijing's Caoshangdi Art District. Shi Shang focuses on high-end residential design projects including villa and condominium architecture and interior design, as well as innovative retail and hospitality designs. Her clients include Chinese A-List celebrities, influential business people and venture capitalists, as well as luxury brands and cultural institutions. Chen Xuan's instinct series of tables and furniture has been exhibited in the Beijing World Art Museum, is part of the ongoing collection of the Chengdu Biennale and has been purchased by influential people inside China and abroad, including French fashion designer Christian Louboutin. As a leader in the Chinese design industry, Chen Xuan is regularly invited to judge creative competitions and lecture on design and creativity. She is an ongoing judge in the CCTV2 TV Show Kongjian Bangyang. She is a designer-host on Mengxiang Gaizaojia, Zhejiang TVs successful design TV show. And she gives regular interviews and lectures on domestic and international design events. Chen Xuan graduated from the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts with a PhD in Architecture. She has traveled extensively through Asia, Europe and America and enjoys spending time with her family.
