Mleiha Dinning Tray

Maleiha dates tray is a unique tray for dates. Sculptural and expressive, its shapes have reminiscences of the sand dunes not just as a superficial way of shaping it but as an inspiration to recreate the forms of the desert to hold dates in a large concavity and a small one for their pits. The ergonomic aspects of the bowl make it easy to carry, light, smooth in the finishing; using only handcraft means to carve it out, hand sanded and natural mineral oil as a final coat. The tray has three points on its bottom in order to guarantee stability on a table

By Spring is a design bureau investigates the limits between object and architecture, interior design and public space through different research methodologies linked with academic scholarship and private commissions in Europe and the Middle East. By Spring is composed by Enrique Pujana, Juan Bueno and Juan Roldan, being established in 2018 as a collective design bureau, exploring industrial design as a mean for researching creativity and fabrication processes. Our design inspiration is life in general. But in a very specific manner, the way we see the world, the way we see its flaws and the way we insist in enhancing and improving our interaction with our environment. We tend to work with a limited materials palette like stainless steel, anodized aluminum, wood and a very strict amount of finishes. The first decision on the materiality of an object depends on the structural needs of its function, after that it's the material itself who drives the process. We also have in mind the means of production, how the material can be manipulated, being true with what it represents: its physical characteristics and aesthetical qualities.
