Nidhish Kurup Biggie Restobar
Biggie Restobar is Bronze Design Award winner in 2017 - 2018 Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award Category.
Biggie Restobar

Designed to resemble an abandoned warehouse, the biggie started as an old house with a separate garage. The team at Zerogravity studio conceived a new MS structure to connect and envelop these two existing buildings and create a central seating space with a large volume. The first floor looks into this space and the entire volume opens out to the garden behind with existing trees. The old areas were renovated by the team to match the design language of the new spaces. The structure along with all its openings, decks and terraces were designed around the existing trees in and around the site.

Nidhish Kurup

Nidhish graduated as an architect from Bharath Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. During the course of graduation he interned with Sudhir Gandhi Associates, New Delhi, for a brief duration. He later shifted base to Bengaluru to work with The Bodhi Tree architects for nearly 5 years where he joined as a fresher architect and then went on to lead his own team. As a designer, Nidhish likes to keep things simple. Simple designs that are elegant and purposeful, and simple processes that help achieve complex targets. In 2011, Nidhish partnered with Chaitra Saraf and Shruti Bihani to form Zero Gravity studio. Their greatest strength has been the sheer diversity in talent of each person in the team and the collaborative approach taken towards refining the designs. The studio believes in creating designs which break free from the shackles. Designs without boundaries and limitations, solutions which are non-conformal and unique, and spaces which are tailor made to meet the most demanding requirements. With a firm belief that the evolution of a good design is as important as the final product itself, the team takes a heavily client centric approach in the design process. This helps in creating unique designs that are both exclusive and cater to the specific needs of each of their clients. Zerogravity studio has completed over 125 projects, both architectural and interiors across India. In a span of 6 years the team has designed a number of projects of different scale, typologies and design disciplines. Started as a team of 3 architects, today the studio is a 14 member group of enthusiastic and talented designers.

Zerogravity Studio

Everything in this world is held together by forces which bind them together. But sometimes, these very forces which unite things also pin them down and prevent real innovation. At zerogravity studio, we believe in creating designs which break free from these shackles. Designs without boundaries and limitations, solutions which are non-conformal and unique, and spaces which are tailor made to meet your most demanding requirements. The studio is the brainchild of three architects Nidhish Kurup, Chaitra Saraf and Shruti Bihani. We've completed a number of projects of different scale, typologies and design disciplines like architecture, interiors, products and graphic design. Our greatest strength has been the sheer diversity in talent of each person in our team and the collaborative approach we take towards refining our designs. With a firm belief that the evolution of a good design is as important as the final product itself, we take a heavily client-centric approach in our design process. This helps us create unique designs that are both exclusive and cater to the specific needs of each of our clients.
