Sheng-Hung Lee Shanghai Library Space
Shanghai Library Space is Iron Design Award winner in 2017 - 2018 Social Design Award Category.
Shanghai Library Space

Human-centred design thinking is applied in reconsidering the Space's market positioning, organizational structure, user experience and space planning, which takes innovation in all directions to a new level by not only satisfying users' needs but also enhancing library staff's value in the larger context of transformative development. To create proper user space experience is to contrive a better, interactive and dynamic status in context, in combination with the current Shanghai Library Innovation Space.

Shanghai Library - Innovation Space

Since its opening to the public in May 2013, the Innovation Space has been in service for over 4 years. During its operation for the last few years, the Readers' Service Center of Shanghai Library has always been attentive to what the users want by adjusting the literature configurations, adding various kinds of software and improving the content of the activities in accordance with their needs. In the meanwhile, Prof. Sheng-Hung Lee hope to offer user experience feedback for the Innovation Space from the readers' perspective, making it an excellent case of users participating in the transformation and application of the library space. Prof. Sheng-Hung Lee has been teaching product design at Fudan University Shanghai Institute of Visual Art for three years, and has gained insights in the planning and design of the overall innovation space. His design has helped the Innovation Space conduct some initial investigations and service design research, which may hopefully be used in the actual space and service design and provide reference for the building of new space in the library and other theme libraries in the future.
