Story of Esfahan Ciry Branding

The city of Esfahan is the first tourist destination in Iran. Esfahan city branding was a national project which should help to increase the tourism potential of the city and bring harmony to the city visual language. Design to attract tourists and locals can relate in a same time was the main challenge of the project. The wide range of communication materials from the official corporate identity, stationary, signages, gamified application to city monument makes the project multi-dimensional and makes it challenging to maintain Integrity in all materials.

I’m the co-founder and design director at Carno Creative Studio in Tehran/Iran. I got my Master’s degree in graphic design from Al-zahra University in 2009-Tehran/Iran. I’ve worked for over 20 years as a design director and strategist in many branding, packaging, visual identity, advertising projects for many of the most prominent local and international brands. I’ve been a professor in the graphic design since 15 years ago and I’ve written many essays on design in authentic magazines. In addition, I’ve earned awards from “A’Design award-Italy” for “Esfahan City Branding”,three golden awards from “National Advertising Festival-Iran”. The studio where I was a design director in, received “the best design studio award of the year” from the Packaging Biennial. One of my projects for Tetrapak was amongst the top five in the “Gerety Awards-France”in the effective communication section. I am also a member of New York advertising Festival Jury , Grand Jury of A'Design Competition and Awards Italy and the Jury of the National AD Festivals in Iran.

Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA)

Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) is a non- profit, non-governmental organization which is the most representative business organization in Isfahan province of Iran. According to the Law of The I.R. Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, the scope of activity of a provincial chamber is limited to the boundaries as laid down in the law of the National Geographic Division, and each provincial chamber enjoys juridical personality and shall be independent in its financial and administrative affairs according to the respective regulations. Foundation bases of "Businessmen Association" in Isfahan go back to over 100 years ago. This action was a valuable incentive to establish the "Chamber of Commerce" in 1931. By the collective efforts of Isfahan artisans "Chamber of Industry" was also formed, which was merged to "Chamber of Commerce" in 1970, and the "Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines" was formed. In 2012 the chamber changed to "Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture", referred to as "ECCIMA". Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, was awarded as "The Best Local Chamber" (Big Chamber Category) by The Confederation of Asia – Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) in October 2012; in recognition of its outstanding achievement in promoting the industrial, commercial and social well-being of its community, and in supporting the chamber movement in the region.
