Print Campaign for the Discovery Channel show "Alaskan Bush People". The photographer was asked to create a modern series of portraits which also intimated an antique and rustic feel. So over a couple of months, the photographer headed to both Alaska and the Rockies of Colorado to shoot the cast of the show. It was important that the environment be featured not only as a tableau but more directly as a primary character directly shaping how the cast lived their lives.
Jason Elias is a photographer and director who lives in Venice, CA with his wife Jessica and their little dog Linus. Jason’s stills work focuses on portraits, travel and lifestyle. He originally came from the commercial film business and those years on set have recently lead back to his directing career. Over the past few years Jason has made a documentary film, come close to investing in a Moroccan Kasbah, and scuba dived off the coast of East Africa in Zanzibar. He has traveled to roughly 25 countries (including India four times) and still dreams of flying to Mozambique, Mongolia, and Indonesia. Being married to a mid-westerner, he has also come to like Fargo (good pretzels). Jason is a full-time Buddhist and occasional cocktailer.
