Einstein Bridge: Lighting Design Concept. The bridge serves as a link between two parts of a neighborhood in the north of Tel Aviv, close to the shore. Taking inspiration from the sea, the curves and height differences along the bridge are accentuated by linear lighting. The design also includes lighting sculptures of sea creatures, shadows in the form of anchors and whale tails, and colored light that brings the sea even closer to the users. This playful narrative is all the more fitting as the bridge is located in close proximity to a school.
Ori Sagi has spent a large part of his life trying to bridge the gap between his love of science and his interest in art. On the one hand, he has a B.Sc. in physics from the Hebrew university in Jerusalem. on the other, he has worked as a literary translator. being an autodidact, he taught himself to use digital content creation software, and holds a diverse and growing collection of books about art, art history and art technique.
Ori Sagi is a lighting designer with a background in both literature and science. Seeing the world from a multidisciplinary point of view, his goal is to infuse the lighted environment with narrative. People need stories; enhancing our architecture and our environment with stories creates meaning all around us. It creates memories, and feelings, and it makes people stop for a while. Now they are changed; and the narrative is part of that change.
