The Chotto provides a healthy recumbent seating posture that leverages gravitational forces to produce mild decompression within an occupant's cervical and lumbar spine. The supportive geometry and flexible seating surface of the Chotto neutralizes the comprehensive stresses acting on the spine while dynamically adapting to each occupant's weight, shape and movement. Additional features include a portable and rotation-ally adjustable work surface, storage compartments, foot rest and an optional pivoting display / standing desk.
Since its founding in 2016, STROMAN DESIGN has been recognized for its innovative and health-focused approach to ergonomic design. The studio’s first product launch, the CHOTTO® ( chair + ottoman ), broke new ground by introducing a recumbent task seating design that prioritizes a healthy neutral body posture over fixed computer displays. The studio has since introduced the TASK TRAY® - a portable and rotationally adjustable workstation and its optional WALLSTATION™ - a fully integrated, power enabled, wall-mounted and height adjustable, dual-display enabled, sitting / standing desk.
STROMAN DESIGN is a New York City based design studio founded on their ( Form x Function )® principle. Adhering to this principle guides the studio toward solutions that maximize the functionality of fewer components, and is of particular relevance to the studio's current focus on ergonomics : ( ergon : work + nomos : natural law ) .
