"Crooked for you" is the third studio album of the Swiss rock band "Death by Chocolate". Graphic designer Alain Aebersold had the honor of designing the cover artwork for it. Inspired by landscapes of imaginary worlds, the design underlines the album title and gives it even more meaning. You can see a crooked visual on the cover which transports you through a perfect sphere and when opening the booklet you’ll get guided into unforeseen and striking aesthetics of a fictive world. The landscape seems to be strange but familiar at the same time.
Alain Aebersold grew up in the canton of Berne in Switzerland. After high school he attended the School of Design in Biel and graduated at the Department of graphics. After several years as a graphic designer in studios and advertising agencies in Bern, Zurich and Berlin, he decided to finish his studies with a Masters degree in Communication Design. He graduate, with a thesis about the integration of letters in timebased media. He is currently working and living in Zurich
Death by Chocolate is a swiss rock music band. They love to play live concerts. More than 120 concerts and the devil only knows how many kilometers - Death by Chocolate travelled a lot the last two years. And they have come a long way. Recording their single Animal Keeper in Nashville with four-times Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Vance Powell was already quite much of a deal. After this first session Vance surprised with the words "Let's do a record". This record, later termed "Crooked For You" was finally made at the famous ICP Studios in Brussels and released in March 2017.
