Bilska de Beaupuy Ltd. Indoor Outdoor Bathroom
Indoor Outdoor Bathroom is Silver Design Award winner in 2017 - 2018 Interior Space and Exhibition Design Award Category.
Indoor Outdoor Bathroom

The project is an exploration of an Indoor-Outdoor space. Architects aimed to create an in-between zone, somewhere that is neither inside nor outside, a metaphor of Nature. The bathroom becomes a place where the Client can rest and reconnect with herself, a space that provides mental and spiritual nourishment. The fluid form of golden trellis supporting air-filtering plants and cave like walls echo Nature through architectural forms. Architects applied principles of Cradle to Cradle, reusing existing elements and integrating non-toxic building materials.

Bilska de Beaupuy

Bilska de Beaupuy is a London architectural studio based on a concept of Nutritious Architecture®. Nutritious Architecture is a term that defines studio’s approach to architecture and its relationships to the human being and the environment. They design for the purpose of connecting people to themselves and to the world around them and create spaces to nourish people's cultural, emotional, physiological and spiritual needs. Bliska de Beaupuy believe every component in the building is a nutrient, from language of form, proportion of space, colour and light to building materials. Building materials have many facets and they use their tactility, texture, aesthetics and energy to influence how the user will feel and react. For all their projects, Bilska de Beaupuy focus on using only non-toxic building materials and create healthy indoor climate. They integrate sustainable technologies to positively impact the environment, air quality, as well as quality of water and soil. They apply philosophies such as Cradle to Cradle (C2C) and Circular Economy to ensure that all elements can be easily reused, recycled or safely disposed. Bilska de Beaupuy is a partnership of an architect and a nutritional therapist, Monika Bilska and Arabella de Beaupuy.
