House as a place of living is the first place that each person becomes familiar with it and has a sense of unity. It has also the feeling of ownership towards it and the first perception of the space. In order to solve the problem of housing requirements for middle class, flexibility is suggested. Flexibility is one of the options that can deal with multidimensional minimum spaces in order to make maximum efficiency and bring them closer optimal spaces. Use of movable walls and furniture have been proposed and it can reduce the amount of occupied space and prepare the space for optimal use.
Roozbeh Ghaemmaghami, born in Tehran in 1989, began his undergraduate studies in Architecture at Islamic Azad University of Qazvin in 2007, then continued on with his Master’s at University of Science and Research in Tehran, under supervision of prominent professors and well-established architects in Iran. While comleting his Maser,s degree, he began working for contractors, consulting firms and construction companies, gaining a great deal of experience in architectural design. In 2015, along with his other partners, he formed an architectural group which participated in various of design competitions and won a number of high rankings. In 2015, with the promotion of this group, he founded “On Architecture Office” with his partners. His ideas and approach to architecture are based on three main themes: First, designing for the people, wherein a plan is presented that is based on the needs of future inhabitants, and is integrated with the values of architecture, form, and space, and wich involves future residents in the design process, so they can directly contribute to improve their own quality of life. Second, the optimal use of materials, including the use of indigenous, recycled and recoverable materials (which can be seen in the Cube Club project), as well as variability and adaptability of materials. And finally, paying close attention to both the environment and the context required for each architectural project.
As a young group, with the aim of improving the quality of life with considering local cultures and lifestyles, trying to achieve the high quality standards of the world’s architecture, we have organized ON architecture Office in 2014. We believe that each project, whether a design of a chair or that of a building, has its own story and particular set of concerns and conditions. Therefore, in each new project, we are seeking for particular language in order to transfer its concepts clearly. Our strong commitment in designing, is to access innovative concepts. The main keys of innovative design is using combined skills and efforts and fluid mutual communication with the client, somehow that at the end, not only to meet all of the client’s demands, but also to pursue the satisfaction of all those who are actively involved in development (users, builders and designers). The core of ON Office was formed by eight persons with different specialties that is right now with Roozbeh Ghaemmaghami, Zeinab Abedi, Gilava Roohipour, Saeid Kabiri and Sahar Zargar continues working. In 2016, three other members, Saba Taghizadeh, Mehrad Habibi and Shabnam Khezeli ended their partnership.
