The lighting design challenge with the new 3-floor office for an international management company in Shanghai was to create a working space unlike any other. The idea was to produce a hospitality-like office space, much like of a premium airline lounge, whilst still incorporating the necessary practical elements of an active working environment. From the main reception and client lounge spaces, to the meeting rooms and back open offices, lighting application has to be in the right balance: between dramatic mood lighting and soft diffused lighting required for comfortable working environments.

Studio Illumine is an international team of lighting designers with a passion for light, architecture, product design and art. The design practice is officially founded in 2011 and based in Shanghai.
