RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The aim of the design was to provide enough light on the workstations, to control the glare and to avoid undesirable reflections on the monitors considering the complexity of the interior design details.
In order to implement the lighting design strategy in the working spaces, the lighting design team studied in the interior design elements of the project, having calculated the light levels and tested the location of the lighting fixtures in the facilities the team achieved their goal.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge of the project was to hide as much as possible the lighting fixtures inside coves, suspended troffers, ceiling louvers and to achieve the required light levels for working keeping in mind that there should be a balance between light levels and energy consumption. The facility is operated and controlled by a lighting control system that allows the user to set different lighting scenes according to their needs. Due to the correct programing of the control system the energy consumption of the whole facility is low contributing in a very important way with the environment.
