There ought to be a feeling of unease and discomfort which will serve as a reminder of the greed of people. The extraneous number of legs of both the table and the chair symbolize such greed. The section of the table connected directly to the cluster of legs expresses the descending negative void of greed. The process to achieve this effect was done personally using diverse fox and tail joinery techniques without requiring much other equipment.
“Don’t be satisfied with your current status and choose the situation that will require you to challenge yourself.” This statement has always influenced her greatly whenever she was faced with a challenging opportunity or a dilemma between certain choices. In Korea, she was educated as a prepared technician that would meet the society’s requirements and expectations, but as the universe claims, nothing is truly absolutely beneficiary. Korea’s linear educating system has, at times, obstructed my pursuit of investigating her own color, and in this kind of circumstances, have always challenged herself to experience various tasks in order to strengthen her own unique expressions.
I studied furniture design in Huypsung University in South Korea. There is a few furniture major in Korea and one of them is Hupsung University. They teach the woodworking, material and design process with humanity for four years. This school is located in Hwasung.
