This series surprises the viewer with a mysterious aquatic environment where expressive figures of great proportions emerge, victims of fate. The artist explores the possibilities of transparency and blur, establishing different levels of perception by bringing depth to the pieces. All of this, thanks to a planned minimalist combination of materials, mainly paper and polypropylene. Thus emerges a suggestive conceptual work with a symbolic and surreal personality.

After working, since 1998, from her studio illustrating many children books, educational projects, magazines and projects for some of the most well-known companies in Spain , Sonia Alins has arrived to an artistic maturity with new aesthetic referents. Because of this, she started a new artistic work (often three-dimensional collages) based on a poetic and surreal narrative related with her inner life, womanhood and feminism. Sonia also explores the expressiveness of some abstract elements such as transparency and blur.

Sonia Alins is an artist who has undertaken a parallel career to her experience as a freelance illustrator. Sonia delves into a creative process that leads her essentially to find herself, establishing an inner dialogue. In that process, thoughts, desires and frustrations are expressed in the form of visual poetry. Sonia's research focuses on discovering her own aesthetic, away from stereotypes, visually powerful, simple, delicate and conceptual.
