Honghao Deng Amoeba Wall Dynamical Space Reconfiguration Tool
Amoeba Wall Dynamical Space Reconfiguration Tool is Silver Design Award winner in 2016 - 2017 Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award Category.
Amoeba Wall Dynamical Space Reconfiguration Tool

Amoeba Wall's design is inspired by the fluid forms and mechanisms of amoeba. It is primarily used as a tangible interface to allow users to achieve efficient workspace reconfiguration and dynamic lighting at the same time. The walls will autonomously shape the room around users such as creating small individual offices, open co-working spaces, and private meeting spaces, responding to their needs. Also, it can also form responsive art installation like an endless maze, or a dancing wall that follows the surrounding music.

Changing Places Group, MIT Media Lab

Changing Places Group propose that new strategies must be found for creating the places where people live and work, and the mobility systems that connect these places, in order to meet the challenge if the future. Changing Places Group is investigating how new models for urban architecture and personal vehicles can be more responsive to the unique needs and values of individuals through the application of disentangled systems and smart customization technology. They are developing technology to understand and respond to human activity, environmental conditions, and market dynamics. They are interested in finding optimal combinations of automated systems, just-in-time information for personal control, and interfaces to persuade people to adopt sustainable behaviours.
