By making use of architectural elements and sophisticated lighting design, the designer has curated an interactive and cohesive space for a family of four in this three-storey house with a connecting garden. Natural lighting is introduced to every corner of the house, coming from the roof window through the glass stair railing to the living room; and from the glass panel wall at the porte cochere to the dining room. The natural lighting is then intertwined with the various carefully-designed artificial light sources positioned in different areas.
Often drawing inspiration from everyday life, Max is observant and attentive to his surroundings and the people in it. His work has an individualized and distinctive style that reflects the character of his clients and their visions. His enthusiasm has led him to found his boutique design studio in 2004 and over the last 12 years, Max has engaged in a spectrum of assignments spanning residential, hospitality and corporate commercial projects. His works have gained recognition both locally and abroad, such as the recent A’Design Award (Italy), Global Design Award (Silver Award), 40 Under 40, Successful Design Award (Shanghai), Prominent Interior Designer. He has also been invited to participate in various worldwide exhibitions including the renowned International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, Light + Build in Frankfurt, 100% Design in Shanghai.
