Pekin Kaku Chinese Restaurant

Pekin-kaku restaurant new renovation offers a stylistic reinterpretation of what a Beijing style restaurant could be, rejecting the traditional abundantly ornamental design in favor of a more simplistic architectonics. The ceiling features a Red-Aurora created using 80 meters long string Curtains, whilst the walls are treated in traditional dark Shanghai bricks. Cultural elements from the millenary Chinese heritage including Terracotta warriors, the Red hare, and Chinese ceramics was highlighted in a minimalistic display providing a contrasting approach to the decorative elements.

Tetsuya Matsumoto is the founder and Head Architect Designer at KTX archiLAB based in Japan, and a Lecturer of a space design course at Osaka University of Art. After graduating from the same university, he specialized in commercial space design and built a large portfolio of projects varying both in type and scale, from shops and restaurants to offices and clinics, and from a small pharmacy to a large Hospital. Tetsuya has received more than a hundred local and international design awards and became a jury member for several prestigious prizes.

PEKIN-KAKU Chinese Restaurant

Pekin-kaku is a Chinese restaurant established in Himeji Japan. The four level building also hosts events and offers services in this regards. Localized nearby the city hall and several business buildings Pekin-kaku welcomes divers business meetings but also wedding ceremonies, the fourth floor accommodates a small chapel for this purpose.
