All interior walls were torn down to transfigure the inefficient living setting into a 270-sqft modern airy studio flat. The home fills with energy to play around the irregular kitchen island and black-mirrored walls which visually expands the room. The white and bright kitchen is well designed and equipped for the cooking-lover owners. Sleeping area is raised with wooden platform and makes good use of window bays to cater more free space, allowing panoramic river views and natural light.

Chris Lam is the founder and Design Director of Zip Interiors. With a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture and over 8 years of experience in Hong Kong, he has designed and involved in various interior design projects which received a number of international and regional awards including Italy’s A’ Design Award and Competitions, Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards and Perspective Awards.
