| DESIGN NAME: Big Room PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: Big Room means feeling the home space is bigger than it actually is with a balance relationship between a chic, minimalist living and maximised practicality. Besides creating a well-equipped kitchen, a passage to bathroom through the kitchen island for the owners’ puppy and a double-sized bathroom, the design hides all storage behind wall panels and under the raised wooden platform. The flat delivers a stylish, comfortable home while fulfilling all practical needs of the owners and the puppy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: All interior walls were torn down to transfigure the inefficient living setting into a 270-sqft modern airy studio flat. The home fills with energy to play around the irregular kitchen island and black-mirrored walls which visually expands the room. The white and bright kitchen is well designed and equipped for the cooking-lover owners. Sleeping area is raised with wooden platform and makes good use of window bays to cater more free space, allowing panoramic river views and natural light.
