The unique Marathon Boy Bookends successfully revive the Ancient Greek cultural heritage through contemporary design practices. Combining innocence with physical perfection, the victorious young athlete is a reminder that belief in oneself is a prerequisite for success and personal fulfillment. The project was an attempt to revive the cultural design industry through re-establishing the notion of cultural gift for museum and art shops. It is handmade in Greece, made out of ceramine, a unique material imitating the properties of materials used in Ancient Greece.

We believe that by promoting and sharing beautiful ideas and products, we can empower local economies and strengthen communities, starting with our own in Greece. Founded four year ago by Greek designer Alexandra, SOPHIA's creations have been until now successfully hosted in museum shops, department stores and concept stores in 40 countries, such as Neiman Marcus, Galleries Lafayette, Assouline, the British Museum and the Louvre.
