Origami Ark or Sun Show Leather Pavilion is a showroom for Sansho leather manufacture in Himeji, Japan. The challenge was to create a space capable to show more than 3000 products in a very restrained area, and make the client understand the huge variety of products as he visits the showroom. The Origami Ark uses 83 small units of 1.5x1.5x2 m3 combined together irregularly to create a big three dimensional maze and provides the visitor and experience similar to exploring a jungle gym.

Tetsuya Matsumoto is the founder and Head Architect Designer at KTX archiLAB based in Japan, and a Lecturer of a space design course at Osaka University of Art. After graduating from the same university, he specialized in commercial space design and built a large portfolio of projects varying both in type and scale, from shops and restaurants to offices and clinics, and from a small pharmacy to a large Hospital. Tetsuya has received more than a hundred local and international design awards and became a jury member for several prestigious prizes.

Sansho is a leather manufacturer company established in Himeji city, Japan, since 1971. The leather tanning is a traditional activity in this region of west Japan since more than a thousand years. Sansho is no using cowhide to produce various leather Items products that will be used later mostly by clothes, bags and shoes makers. The strength of this company is not only its capacity of production but also the huge variety of items they propose. Sunsho is still aiming to grow more widely and cover other geographical regions armed by the quality of their products.
