Saana Hellsten Basik Packaging
Basik Packaging is Silver Design Award winner in 2014 - 2015 Packaging Design Award Category.
Basik Packaging

Packaging is a big part of the interaction with a product and with her work Basik, Saana Hellsten criticizes packaging that perpetuates gender stereotypes. She disassembles outdated gender norms and increases awareness of people outside of the traditional gender binary. Basik offers a gender-neutral shaving kit, where the emphasis is on the purpose rather than on the gender of the target customer. In the household cleaning products, which usually rely on gendered packaging to communicate messages about the products, Basik focuses on the function of being stackable and remaining gender-neutral.
