Sustainability is not only about utilizing natural fibre but also recycling dumped materials that occupies landfill space.The silhouette is designed for a chic bride who is conscientious about wastefulness in modern living and wishes to be clothed in ways that reflect her style as much as her sentiments about sustainability.The design incorporates sixteen panel skirt and cropped jacket made of recycled plastic that gives different outlook on sustainability.The plastic has been hand-cut to create textures and colourful hand woven collar is made out of waste embroidery threads.
Tanya Bansal is a final year under graduate student from Pearl Academy of Fashion, Delhi. She is a keen learner and loves experimenting with new textiles.
