Garuda Collection was inspired by a national symbol of Indonesia, a mythical bird with eagle-like features that appears in both Hinduism and Buddhism mythology. Made of 18 carats of gold with 8 feathers on the wing, 17 black stones on the head and another 45 on the wing, this ancient deity represents the date Indonesia proclaimed its independence: 17 August '45.
Amelia Rachim is Italy based jewellery designer originally from Indonesia. She has captured world attention by wining numerous jewellery design award in Europe, US and Canada. Her visionary design was known as an unique blend of european sophistication and exotic influences. She fell in love with jewellery making when worked at Bali. After finishing her degree in Industrial Design, at November 2008 she decided to move to Italy by the scholarship from Politecnico di Torino. She then achieved a Master degree in Jewellery Engineering Master Program and gained technical experiences in city of gold Valenza and Vicenza. At September 2011, she became the youngest winner over 3037 designers from 96 countries on "Design Time" competition, organized by Breil, Italian Watch & Jewellery brand. Since then, her design continues giving a fresh air into jewellery and luxury industries.
