The inspiration behind the “Geometric Collection” comes from architecture. All shades are constructed with geometric precision strictly using converging lines and thus creating a perfect symmetry and therefore optimizing the relationship between angles and edges. The opening release within the Geometric Collection is called “Diamond Shades” – a limited edition collection with distinct contours and facets, produced in high-end craftsmanship quality, made in Austria.
Founded in January 2013, 13&9 is an interdisciplinary design collective from Graz, Austria, that celebrates the unique talents and partnership between architects INNOCAD and product and fashion designer ANASTASIA SU. The interdisciplinary team’s successful cooperation with specialist partners like Martin Lasnik has led to outstanding achievements in design of furniture, fashion, accessories, lighting and art objects, as well as for industrial design and sound installation projects. From the beginning on, projects of 13&9 have been recognized with numerous awards and architectural publications.
“Geometric Collection” is the explosive result of a gathering of creative minds – all with their individual history, background and approach to design. On one side Robert La Roche, an established long-running eyewear brand with close ties to the art industry since its start in 1973. On the other side 13&9, an internationally awarded design collective with its core in the field of fashion and product design, consisting of Martin Lesjak and Anastasia Su as well as Martin Lasnik, optician and eyewear designer. Founded in the early seventies by renowned Austrian eyewear designer Robert La Roche, the eponymous eyewear brand at once established itself on an international scale as an outstanding and truly trendsetting label during the fashion-crazed New Wave era of the eighties. Continuing its success with daring avant-garde designs throughout the nineties, in 2013 Robert La Roche partnered with eyewear aficionado Anthony Reid to subject the brand to a major and radical change where age old brand values nod to modern day aesthetics and brand positioning.
