In a lot of cities traditional coach tours come with a big problem in the form of horse refuse. As a first essential requirement Fiaker 2.0 solves street pollution produced by coach tours in cities. Further on a specific design for a horse-drawn carriage is developed, following the classical cabs in their formal aesthetics despite having its own modern and up-to-date form. The challenge is to present a contemporary and ecological concept, still transmitting the typical feeling of a coach tour. The main goal is to make coach tours more attractive to clients through innovative design.
In November 2012 Michael Hofbauer duly completed the Master’s Programme Scionic Industrial Design at the University of Art and Design Linz in Austria. As an Industrial/Product Designer he is able to link personal creativity with modern technical innovations. It offers challenges in many different ways: technology, ergonomics, surfacing, function, safety, sustainability. Furthermore developing new ideas in a committed and motivated team for him is one of the most interesting tasks in the profession of an Industrial Designer. That’s just a brief description of his fascination for Industrial Design.
