Created from simple framing dimensional lumber and plywood strips, Wave is a unique bench that evokes simplicity in construction and elegance in form with a sculptor's touch. Its seating contours and individual blocks provide ergonomic support and comfort. Wave is designed by John Cruz, a veteran computer graphics designer coming from the video game industry. John wanted to merge both the virtual world of computer graphics imagery (CGI) and the real natural world by using his knowledge of CGI principles into the design and creation of contemporary furniture.

John Cruz is a designer of humanitarian inventions. With almost 20 years of experience in the computer graphics industry coupled with his engineering education, John tackles to solve some of the most pressing problems facing refugees and homeless people through innovative design. His current area of focus is in designing versatile, mobile, modular and durable accommodations for refugees in camp -settlements. Using these criteria, John designed and invented Rush - an expandable hard-shelled wagon capable of housing up to 4 people, and capable of creating larger temporary structures such as a school or a field hospital.

Cube Forest Design is a Canadian-based modern furniture design studio that takes a unique approach to creating sculpted functional furniture and art pieces. John Cruz, owner of Cube Forest Design, merges the virtual world and the natural world by combining principles of computer graphics imagery (CGI) with natural materials and inspirations to come up with innovative creations.
