The group's intension was to combine technology and handcrafted techniques as well as natural and industrial materials. A thorough experimentation with the wood lamination technique led as to familiar natural patterns, such as the formation created by the wind on the sand, becoming the foundation for the further development of the project and finally the visual representation of the current city status and humanity's nature consciousness.

“Urban fiction” is a creative design group located in Athens consisted of Yiannis Siotis, Kanella Vlachou and Marilena Karagkiozi. The group has been active from 2008, aiming to exploit new techniques and expand the possibilities of various materials through conceptual designs. Its expertise is laying on jewellery and product design, maintaining a balance between handcrafted and technology, aesthetics and functionality.
