The Kengzi Fire Station is designed with an enclosed U-shaped layout. It comprises a 3 story service building measuring 13.8 meters tall and a 7 story, 35 meter high training tower. It brings upgraded solutions based on the standardized design of fire stations in Shenzhen. Full height space, void, open air atrium, bridge like corridor and facade grilles are set to adapt to the hot and rainy climate of Lingnan. The square and dignified architectural style embodies a sense of solemnity and stability.

Founded in 1984, the Institute is one of national class-A design institutes approved by Ministry of Construction. He is the deputy chief architect of the Institute of Architectural Design and Research, Shenzhen University, and the founder of Z&Z Studio, and has the title of “Class 1 Registered Architect”. He won the accolade of Top 10 Young Architect conveyed by Shenzhen Exploration & Design Association in 2011, and was granted Young Architect Award by Architectural Society of China in 2013. Besides, he was awarded as “Innovative Star” in 2020 and “Academic Star” in 2021 by Shenzhen Civil Engineering and Architecture Society. His architectural works covers over 20 cities in China. Zhong Zhong is a professor and master's tutor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Shenzhen University. He is the deputy chief architect of the Institute of Architectural Design and Research, Shenzhen University, and the founder of Z&Z Studio. He is a Class-1 Registered Architect, a senior member and expert of the Architectural Society of China (ASC), the Deputy Secretary-General of Lingnan Architectural Academic Committee of ASC, Member of the Institute of Chinese Architects of ASC, Member of the Medical Architecture Branch of the ASC, Member of Resilient City and Building Committee of ASC, Deputy Secretary-General of the Environmental Art Committee of the Guangdong Society of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Member of Guangdong Registered Architects Association, and Deputy Secretary-General of Shenzhen Registered Architects Association. Zhong Zhong is also a member of the 7th Architectural Expert Committee of Shenzhen Civil Engineering and Architecture Institute, a Construction Bid Evaluation Expert in Shenzhen, an Architectural Design Review Expert in Shenzhen, and a juror for the Evaluation of Senior Architectural Professional Titles in Shenzhen. Founded in 1984, SUIADR is one of the class-A design institutes in China, specializing in architectural design, urban planning, residential community design, interior and exterior decoration design, and landscape architecture, etc. Over the years, the institute has delivered projects across more than a dozen large and medium-sized cities nationwide.
